The Calgary Journal is a local news organization managed by students with the support of the staff and faculty of Mount Royal University. Students are apart of the entire process, they find their own unique stories, reach out to sources, write the article and work with an editor to get it published. I have always had a passion for photography. It is what initially drew me into the journalism program at Mount Royal University. In high school I joined a school club called Through The Lens, organized by local photographer Craig Richards. He taught me how to work with film photography, and how to produce photos in a dark room. My photography skills have significantly improved over the years and as part of the required curriculum to obtain my bachelors I have taken several photo editing courses. I am confident in my ability to edit photos and create new designs using Adobe suites.
